Kevin Vanderwerf

Kevin is a retired Engineering Fellow from Honeywell’s aerospace group who specialized in navigation algorithms and Kalman filtering.  He was born and raised in Minnesota and moved to Oro Valley with his wife Kim and their two kids (then in middle school) in 2002.  Kevin continued to work for a Minneapolis Honeywell operation from his home until he retired in 2019.

Kevin started playing guitar at a young age and performed with a local country band in high school, but his love was always rock and roll.  After a long hiatus from playing guitar while raising a family, Kevin started jamming with Tim in 2015.  They quickly found their sound with Tim’s lead guitar fills and solos as well as his keyboard prowess along with Kevin’s versatile vocals.  They began working on a repertoire of classic rock songs and developed their signature harmonies.  They got their first paid gig in April of 2017 and adopted the name KT Klassics.  (The KT obviously stands for Kevin and Tim).  They now perform regular monthly gigs at some great venues in the Northwest Tucson area and sprinkle in some summer gigs in the Pinetop area of the White Mountains as well as many private events.  They have a great selection of songs and are continuing to expand their repertoire.
